merging jpg files into single PDF file

I am trying to creat a single PDF file using jpg fies named in alphabetical order

eg, a.jpg, b.jpg etc. but although a PDF file is created the jpg files are not in alphabetical order in the completed PDF file. Is their a way of acchieving this ??
