Unable to preserve Notepad formatting using doPDF 8?

I just successfully installed doPDF 8 and selected this printer from Notepad. The resulting PDF file is NOT the same as in Notepad. I checked "Medium" and "Embed fonts" as PDF options. I am puzzled why there is an extra blank line after every line of text in the pdf file.
It appears there is something not-quite-standard about the end-of-line structure in the Notepad.
