Re: cannot extract pages and create new file
You cannot extract pages with doPDF from an existing PDF file. If you're trying to print a pdf via doPDF, then make sure the "save as file" option in your PDF reader is not checked, because that's what usually creates the .prn files.

Re: Question regarding DoPDF using with VB.NET
Yes, we do have a VB.NET sample on http://www.novapdf.com/samples-sdk.html however it's for a product we created for developers, novaPDF SDK. You can download an evaluation version from http://www.novapdf.com/download.html#developer-tools

Re: define paper sizes
On the "Printing Preferences" page for doPDF (right click on the doPDF printer from your "devices & printers" list and select "printing preferences") there's an option "Custom" that lets you choose a predefined size. It cannot be more than 3276 millimeters...

Re: create pdf from .xps
Have you tried using the latest version of doPDF? Also, please start first the XPS Viewer and then go to its File-Print option and select to print to doPDF from there, instead of using doPDF's start-up window.

Re: How to find if dopdf is installed via javascript
You cannot access printer properties from Javascript, thus it's very difficult to develop something that is accurate and works. The easiest approach is to write directly on the page a notice for users to install doPDF if they don't have it already.
